The Recreation Unit promotes and supports leisure activities through sport and recreation. We also support local and international camping and supports local day camping during the school breaks.

 

 

 

Our Mission

We will advance recreation for all and strengthen the signifiicant contribution that these initiatives make towards the enhancement of the quality of life for the total community.

The strategic objectives of the Recreation section are:

  • To promote and support leisure activities through sport and recreation
  • To support leadership training, development and accreditation for the implementation of programs and services
  • To support, through grants, community organisations concerned with sport and recreation activities
  • To support local and international camping
  • To support local day camping during the school breaks

 

Overview
The Recreation Section of the Department of Youth, Sports, and Recreation is divided into two sub-sections: the Camping Section and the School Age Activities Section. Both sections are supervised by the Senior Recreation Officer. The Camping Section consists of 12 full-time staff. The School Age Activities Section consists of numerous part-time workers. The programs in this section consist of Mid-term Break camps and Summer Day camps.
